I’ve been an avid coffee drinker since I was about 15 years old. Over the years, my morning coffee has become more than just a routine—it’s one of my favorite parts of the day.
While my trusty Keurig isn’t going anywhere (because let’s be honest, sometimes convenience wins), I’ve always dreamed of owning an espresso machine that could make café quality lattes at home.
After months of debating, I finally decided to splurge on an olive Breville espresso machine.
Now comes the fun part.
I’m learning the art of espresso one latte at a time, while creating a coffee bar that feels warm, cozy, and functional. This post will continue to evolve as I discover new favorites, so follow along as I build my dream coffee station.
If you’re creating a cozy coffee bar of your own, these are the products I use, love, or would recommend to recreate this look.

The Espresso Machine
The moment I saw the Olive Tapenade Breville, I was in love. I knew I had to have it. There’s something about the soft olive color that feels timeless rather than trendy. It adds just the right amount of warmth to my cream kitchen and instantly became the focal point of my coffee bar. Every time I walk into the kitchen, it makes me smile and that’s exactly what I wanted.

Espresso Essentials
As soon as my Breville arrived, I tore into the box and got to work setting it up. Within minutes, I was making my very first latte.
Before it arrived, I had done plenty of research and made a list of recommended accessories—but if you know me, you know I’m impatient. I couldn’t wait to get started.
After a few drinks, I quickly realized there were a few things that would make the experience even better. The first was a set of espresso mugs that actually fit under the machine. I also added a knock box and a walnut tamping mat to protect my countertops and keep everything tidy. Finally, I picked up amber syrup bottles and a coffee bean canister to make the coffee bar feel more intentional and put together.
The machine comes with almost everything you need to make great espresso right out of the box. These accessories aren’t necessities, but they definitely make the experience more enjoyable and help create a coffee bar that feels both beautiful and functional.

Coffee Bar Decor
What’s a coffee bar without a little personality? While the Breville is the star of the show, it’s the little details that make the space feel finished. I added framed artwork that I’ll switch out seasonally, a walnut scalloped board to give everything a collected feel, and a few linen hand towels to keep nearby for wiping down the steam wand—and cleaning up the occasional espresso mishap.

Coffee Bar Organization
As much as I love my new espresso machine, I didn’t want my coffee station to take over my entire kitchen. I still plan to keep my Keurig for those busy mornings when I just need a quick cup of coffee. To keep the countertop feeling clean and uncluttered, I added a K-Cup organizer to the drawer beneath my coffee bar so everything stays within easy reach but out of sight.
One feature I didn’t expect to love is the hidden storage compartment behind the Breville’s drip tray. It’s the perfect place to store the extra filter baskets and cleaning tools that come with the machine, keeping everything organized without taking up additional counter or drawer space. It’s a small detail, but one that makes the machine feel especially thoughtful and well-designed.

My Favorite Amazon Finds
To elevate the space, I added a few cute espresso and latte mugs that fit perfectly under the machine and complement the overall look of the coffee bar. Functional pieces can still be beautiful!
I also picked up a coffee recipe book because one of the things I’m most excited about is trying new drinks with my family. From seasonal lattes to iced coffees and homemade syrups, At the end of the day, this coffee bar isn’t just about making espresso. It’s about creating a cozy little ritual, trying new recipes, and making everyday moments at home feel a little more special.

Coffee Bar Tips
Creating a coffee bar doesn’t have to happen all at once. Start with the essentials, then slowly add pieces that make the space feel personal. Mixing natural wood, soft linens, stoneware, and greenery creates a timeless look that can be updated seasonally with artwork, stems, or a few decorative accents.
I’ll continue updating this post as I discover new accessories, recipes, and coffee favorites, so be sure to check back.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Olive Breville worth it?
Absolutely! I purchased the Olive Barista Express Impress, and I couldn’t be happier with it. Not only is it beautiful enough to leave on the countertop, but it also makes café-quality espresso right in my own kitchen. If you’re someone who appreciates both design and a good cup of coffee, I think it’s worth considering.
Which Breville machine did you buy?
I chose the Breville Barista Express Impress. I wanted something that offered a little more guidance and automation than a traditional espresso machine while still letting me learn the process. Breville has several excellent machines at different price points, so there’s an option whether you’re just getting started or you’re a seasoned home barista.
Does the Breville have a built-in grinder?
Yes! One of the biggest reasons I chose this model was the built-in conical burr grinder. Having freshly ground beans for every shot makes a noticeable difference, and it also saves valuable counter space by eliminating the need for a separate grinder.
Can beginners use a Breville espresso machine?
Definitely. I was a beginner when I bought mine, and Breville makes the learning process much less intimidating. They offer helpful video tutorials, and the Barista Express Impress walks you through many of the steps. Like anything new, there’s a little learning curve, but it’s been a fun one.
What accessories do you need?
Honestly, not many. The machine comes with almost everything you need to start making espresso right out of the box. Beyond good coffee beans and your favorite espresso mugs, everything else is optional. Accessories like a knock box, milk pitcher, syrup bottles, and storage canisters simply make the experience easier—and, let’s be honest, they’re part of the fun of creating a beautiful coffee bar.
Is it better than a Keurig?
For me, they’re completely different experiences, so I don’t think it’s fair to compare them.
My Keurig isn’t going anywhere. It’s still my go to when I need a quick cup of coffee before work or I’m rushing out the door.
The Breville is something I slow down and enjoy. Making a latte or cappuccino has become part of my morning routine, and there’s something satisfying about learning the process and creating a café style drink at home. One is about convenience; the other is about the experience.
